John Tilley was baptised in Henlow, Bedfordshire, England in 1571.  He married Joan (Hurst) Rogers, the widow of Thomas Rogers, in 1596.  John sailed with Joan and their daughter Elizabeth, who was about 13 years old. John's younger brother Edward, and wife Agnes, also traveled on Mayflower. John and Joan died shortly after coming ashore in Plymouth, as did Edward and Agnes. John's daughter Elizabeth survived and married fellow passenger John Howland about 1625.
